Emmerdale actress Laura Norton recently opened up about her “bizarre” relationship with her former co-star Mark Jordon.
Many actors often find love while on set and it seems Laura and Mark are among those who managed to find each other while on the ITV hit soap.
Mark Jordon played Daz Spencer in 2014 and again between 2017 and 2019 while Laura is still on the soap playing Geordie loudmouth Kerry Wyatt.
While Kerry's love life on the fictional soap has currently hit the rocks, off-screen Laura seems to be doing just fine. The pair met on the set of the long-running ITV soap and got engaged in 2018. In January 2021, the couple welcomed a baby son named Jesse.
Laura often gives her followers a glimpse into her life and shares loved-up snaps of family on her social media accounts. Speaking to Inside Soap, Laura revealed the spark between the couple was far from instant and developed down the line.
This was mostly due to Mark's short stint in the programme. She revealed: "It wasn't love at first sight. We didn't have a chance to get to know each other properly at first as Mark was only there for two weeks." She added: "Our paths crossed later, we became close friends, then the unexpected happened and now we have a baby – it's bizarre when I think about it!"
Speaking on how their love blossomed Laura told the Loose Women panel back in 2020: “When we first told each other we liked each other we just went, ‘Shall we just leave it? Shall we just stay as friends? It’s probably best'. So, it was months after we actually told each other.”
Mark, 55, added: “We were really good friends. We kept re-examining the question and eventually it was a bit more of a question.”
