Emmerdale has received a string of Ofcom complaints over their serial killer storyline with Meena Jutla.
The resident of the ITV soap had already murdered four people - her friend Nadine, and fellow residents Ben Tucker, Andrea Tate and Leanna Cavanagh - and in horrifying scenes last week, she held Vinny Dingle and Manpreet Sharma hostage.
In the scenes, Meena tried to kill both of them as they worked out she was behind the other murders, and at the time, fans even confessed they were switching off as they couldn't watch the horrific scenes.
And now, it has been revealed that Ofcom has received over 60 complaints about the scenes that aired on January 12.
The day after, everything came to a head as Dr Liam Cavanagh worked out everything and went to save Vinny and Manpreet. He managed to get them to safety but Meena escaped and has been on the run since.
However, bosses have teased there will be a "judgement day" for Meena in the near future.
"I think it's fair to say that judgement day for Meena is coming. But whether she'll get away with murder you're going to have to wait and find out," executive producer Jane Hudson teased to The Mirror and other press.
"There are still some more twists and turns to be had in this story. Some that you probably won't see coming but I think we can all agree that Meena can pretty much do anything."
She added: "But yes, Meena's judgement day is coming. It won't play out quite as you expect, there will be a lasting effect on a lot of the villagers but I think within the next few months, Meena will get what's coming with her."
Emmerdale spoilers reveal Meena is set to return to screens soon - but the storyline is being kept under wraps.
All we know so far is that while it doesn't appear she is in or near the village, she is busy plotting her return, especially once she sees Dawn Taylor and Billy Fletcher's 'save the date' posts ahead of their wedding day.
Meena was desperate to murder her ex Billy for choosing Dawn over her, but in the coming weeks, she will instead turn her attentions towards her love rival. Could Dawn be in danger?
