Emmerdale delivered tragedy and heartache on Wednesday night, as Liv Flaherty died following an accident during the deadly storm.
As the soap continued its big stunt week as part of the show's 50th birthday celebrations, another character perished following the death of Harriet Finch.
With other characters still in peril and no one safe, it was Liv who tragically died after being crushed by a caravan in the village.
Both she and her husband Vinny Dingle were harmed as the mobile home flew towards them before landing on top of them.
But as Vinny managed to crawl himself out to safety, he realised poor Liv was trapped with her lower body underneath the back end of the caravan.
Liv's brother Aaron heard the commotion and raced to help, followed by his stepdad Paddy Kirk who soon called for the emergency services, warning Aaron and Vinny not to touch the van as it might cause her more injuries.
Sadly Paddy was right, but there was nothing anyone could do for Liv, as the emergency services arrived and informed her worried loved ones that she was pinned down.
They detailed that her lower body had been crushed by the caravan, and was now the only thing keeping her alive.
Aaron and Vinny were distraught, with Vinny desperate to do something as they were told she didn't have long left to live.
Liv opened up to her brother who told her she was going to be fine, but it was clear from their heartbreaking final conversation that they both knew it was goodbye.
She thanked him for saving her all those years ago, and Aaron told her he loved her before leaving her with Vinny.
As Vinny told Liv of all the things they were going to do in the future, a struggling Liv begged him to make sure he lived his life to the fullest.
They told each other they were soul mates and that they would see each other again, before Liv told him how happy he made her, only to die in his arms seconds later.
As she took her last breath, Vinny cradled his wife and sobbed as the episode came to a devastating end.
Viewers were sobbing over the scenes, as Liv lost her life in tragic fashion while Vinny survived.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
