Emmerdale fans 'work out' who dies in 50th anniversary week as they predict heartache for Dingles

Emmerdale fans have been left anxiously waiting to find out which of their favourite characters will meet their end after Sunday night's milestone 50th anniversary episode - and many are convinced they have figured it out.

The long running ITV soap aired a special episode to mark its 50th anniversary tonight, viewers saw a deadly wind storm hit the village - with the cliff hanger ending leaving favourites Kim Tate, Harriet Finch and Amelia Spencer in trouble.

But eagle eyed fans think they have spotted one major clue that identifies who that might be and many are convinced it means heartache for the Dingle family, the Mirror reports.

Viewers have predicted a huge twist off the back of one scene in the hour long special and it didn't take long before they took to social media to share their thoughts and theories.

Samson Dingle, who was recently revealed as the father of Amelia Spencer's baby was seen storming off (no pun intended) in tonight's episode following an argument with his dad, Sam, who less than impressed with his actions of late.

Full of rage, Samson made himself scarce after his dad told him he was ashamed of him, it comes after Samson confessed he had no intentions of supporting Amelia through her pregnancy nor having any involvement with the baby. He also declined to visit Faith ahead of her death.

However, arguments aside, due to the deadly storm that is brewing, viewers were left wondering whether the youngster will find himself in jeopardy or worse still, meet his end.

Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "#Emmerdale theory: Samson goes missing on the way to see Amelia and gets killed/injured in the storm and is found too late?"

A second agreed: "'I'm ashamed of you' klaxon Samson under a pile of rubble or impaled by a weather vane then?"

A third viewer tweeted: "'I'm starting to really not like that lad'... Please don't let these be the last ever words Sam says to Samson."

We'll bring you updates on what the future holds for the Emmerdale favourites in the coming days.
