Emmerdale fans are convinced they've worked out a huge twist - which will see Nicky's relative 'exposed' as a past resident.
Fans are sure that both Caleb and Nicky are hiding a secret, but one fan is adamant that it's not linked at all and in fact, Nicky's connection lies with someone else in the village. During last night's episode, Nicky seemed to make a slip-up when he spoke about her mum, as he had started to say his mum 'is' beautiful before changing to 'was'.
According to Nicky, his mum died when he was 15-years-old and one viewer is sure that points to him being related to Emma Barton, and it makes sense why he's decided to target Gabby of all people.
One viewer suggested on social media: "I'm convinced I’ve solved it. He is the son of Emma Barton - conceived after she split up with James Barton 1st time round. Emma’s death fits the timeline (Nicky = 15).
"Gabby uncovered her lying to Ashley about the motorway smash. Moira killed Emma. I’m a genius! #emmerdale."
Most fans think the Nicky's slip-up means he's definitely lying, and are sure his comment provides a clue to his identity.
One viewer wrote on Twitter: "Nicky said "is" when on about his dead parent and then quickly corrected himself to "was", he is definitely lying and up to something isn't he? #Emmerdale."
"Nicky's mum died when he was 15. Is that a clue to who he is? #Emmerdale," a second added on social media, as a third fan penned online: "Nicky's mum passed away? Could that be a lie? #Emmerdale."
However, some fans are convinced Nicky is related to Caleb.
"Caleb sticking up for Nicky.. Nicky is definitely Caleb’s son or relative. 100% #Emmerdale," one shared.
Emma Barton had three kids that viewers know about - Pete, Ross and Finn - and was married to James Barton. Emma was killed by Moira after she accused her of being responsible for Holly's death. Angry, Moira shoved Emma off the viaduct causing her demise.
Actor Lewis Cope - who played Nicky - previously teased his character has something to hide.
He said: "Yeah, he seems to have a huge interest in Gabby. He's got his reasons why he wants to be with her which will all come out eventually. I think Nicky has got a lot going on, and maybe with it being a soap there is more."
