Emmerdale fans are convinced they've rumbled what Leyla Harding is hiding - and how she's really linked to newcomer Suzy Merton.
She clashed with Suzy in scenes on Thursday night, as she urged her to leave and never return - fearing she would expose her secrets in the village.
Despite Suzy reassuring her this would not happen, Leyla didn't seem convinced as they discussed how they knew each other.
It was clear they were both hiding how exactly they knew one another, with Suzy revealing they had been friends for years - while Leyla's reaction suggested there was more to it.
Now, fans are predicting the pair could have been lovers in the past, or that they share a family connection.
Leyla came across secret friend Suzy who was on a date with Vanessa Woodfield in the pub, and it soon got pretty awkward.
Taking to Twitter as the scenes unfolded, viewers questioned what the pair were covering up - as Suzy referenced them seeing each other two weeks ago, around the time Leyla was seen making a cryptic phone call.
One fan said: "I bet Leyla and Suzy have slept together and that’s the secret."
Another agreed: "I wonder if leyla and suzie had a fling at some point," as a third added: "#Emmerdale hinting Leyla and Suzy once had a thing?"
A fourth fan tweeted: "Wait a f***ing minute… is Leyla actually Suzy’s ex??? Because that’s the vibe, huns," as another commented: "Leyla and Susie definitely had it off."
Earlier in the year, Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw hinted something huge was in the way for the character.
She told press: "Leyla has a big storyline coming up in 2022. We’ve seen her be a huge support to Liam through the loss of his daughter Leanna but is all as it seems?
"Is Leyla really coping as well as she seems to on the surface or is there a bit more going on there that we’ll uncover?"
It comes as soap boss Kate Brooks promised big "ramifications" ahead for characters in the fallout to Meena's exit.
One character set to take centre stage is Leyla, with Kate hinting there was a "massive" storyline for her and Liam.
She told The Mirror and other press: "This woman wreaked havoc in the village and destroyed people’s lives, Liam has lost his daughter, Manpreet... what hasn't she been through in the past 12 months?
"So I think we were very conscious not to just tie it up in a very neat bow and say okay, now Meena has left and gone from the village, let’s just move on.
"That is not what would happen or how we have made it. There's a massive story on the table for Liam and Leyla which is the result of what has gone down with Leanna and everything, there are big ramifications for Charles and Manpreet."
