Emmerdale’s Danny Miller has given soap fans a glimpse of his first visit to the Dales after he confirmed he will be returning to the ITV soap later this year.
The 31-year-old actor will be reprising his role as Aaron Dingle as part of Emmerdale's explosive 50th anniversary celebrations.
The milestone celebrations will feature a huge storm, as well as the shock return of three popular characters, with bosses promising that the October tempest will be the biggest stunt ever seen on a soap.
There could now be two storms brewing on the Dales, as Aaron Dingle, Diane Sugden and Tracy Metcalfe all make a comeback.
Actor Danny took to Instagram to confirm the happy news and shared a fun clip of himself back on the Emmerdale set.
The dad-of-one posted a clip of him sitting at the bar in The Woolpack before swigging a bottle of beer and exclaiming: “Good to be back!”
Danny left Emmerdale in 2021 and saw his exit from the ITV soap aired in November shortly after he entered the I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! Castle in Wales.
Danny excitedly revealed the news of his comeback to his followers, writing: “Guess who’s back.. back AGAIN! News is out I’ve come back to celebrate the 50th year of @emmerdale Let the drama begin!”
Producer Kate Brooks said of the exciting anniversary episodes: “A massive storm will rip through the village and leave a trail of destruction in its wake. Some of our best-loved villagers will be in peril. The village will literally never be the same again.
"We also have the return of some very familiar faces to the Dales. Diane, Aaron and Tracy will all be making a re-appearance, albeit on a temporary basis, but they’ll be at the heart of some really big stories that will impact their lives."
Executive Producer Jane Hudson has vowed the 50th birthday gale will be different to the numerous disasters on the ITV soap over the years, including the 2003 storm that killed Tricia Dingle.
She said: "It’s in daytime, so you can actually see what’s happening. It affects the entire village – and some people are seriously injured, so I think it will feel really different."
Jane also refused to rule out a killing as part of October’s anniversary month, saying: "There is always potential for a murder. It’s Emmerdale, there’s normally a murderer lurking around the corner somewhere."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV.
