Emmerdale fans thrilled as Hollyoaks character turns up in village

Emmerdale viewers joked a Hollyoaks character appeared in the village during Tuesday's show.

This week's second episode of the long-running soap continued to hone in on Leyla's drug addiction. The character, played by Roxy Shahidi, has been living a double life for weeks, hiding her cocaine habit from her husband Liam.

Leyla has recently been trying to stop taking the drug, but Tuesday's instalment of the programme saw Jai's old dealer turn up at Take a Vow.

She was tempted when he offered her a deal on some cocaine. But viewers at home were distracted as the drug dealer, Jason, looked familiar.

Jason is played by Parry Glasspool, who played Harry Thompson in Hollyoaks until 2019. Harry was murdered by serial killer Breda McQueen in a surprising twist, with no one seeing it coming.

Eagle-eyed soap fans clearly recognised the actor, and were quick to make the same joke. Taking to Twitter, Jodie McLoughlin said: "Someone better ring Tony in Hollyoaks! Harry is alive and well in Emmerdale village!"

ASuperGav said "Harry off Hollyoaks back again", while McWhiskers said: "Leyla's dealer was Harry in Hollyoaks". Gemma said: "Omg it's Harry from Hollyoaks!"

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
