Emmerdale fans have wondered if they have spotted a potential new romance after Gabby Thomas was comforted by a pal following their sudden return to screens. As viewers of the ITV soap know, Gabby has been left heartbroken after she was jilted on her wedding day by Nicky.
Unbeknownst to her, Nicky, who was hired as Home Farm's nanny last year, had no interest in her from the start and was just pretending to love her in order to help his dad Caleb Milligan with his plan to bring down Kim Tate after revealing her later ex-husband Franke Tate was his father.
When Caleb was finally caught out by Kim and confronted him with the help of his half-brother Cain Dingle, Nicky was confessing everything to Gabby about what he and his dad had been up to. It came after Nicky told her he couldn't go through with the wedding because he was gay.

After their confrontation was over, a heartbroken Gabby later cried to Kim and made her promise to take revenge on Caleb for all the hurt he had caused. "I promise you Gabby, with everything I've got, the gun is already loaded and my finger is on the trigger," Kim vowed.
But she has since found it hard to get back into the swing of life without Nicky and was left triggered during scenes aired during Wednesday night's trip to the Dales (June 14) as she was interrupted by a confident Caleb striding into The Woolpack.
It came as viewers were left shocked by Jacob Gallagher's return to the village as he suddenly appeared to check on Gabby as he spotted her drinking alone. Thanking him for his supportive texts, and apologising for not responding, Jacob brushed it off and said that as long as she knew he was there for her, that's all that mattered.

Later, back at Home Farm, viewers saw Jacob enjoying a takeaway with Gabby, Kim and Will Taylor.
Taking to social media, Emmerdale fans wondered whether Jacob could end up being Gabby's next love interest as she tries to get over Nicky including @Benthamfans who tweeted: " Guessing Emmerdale will put Gabby and Jacob together sooner or later." While @Sehguh666 added: "#Emmerdale Jacob and Gabby future romance, you heard it here first folks"
