Emmerdale's Kyle Winchester made a shock confession to the police that he killed Al Chapman in scenes on Friday evening.
The 10-year-old pitched up at the police station alone on the ITV soap after his newfound uncle Caleb planted a suggestion in his head.
Holding a plastic bag up to a police officer, Kyle said he had evidence he was responsible for the murder his dad Cain Dingle is currently behind bars for.
Cain took the blame and helped cover up the crime to protect his son, but Kyle has been struggling to hide what he did.
As more characters have learned the truth, Moira, Matty, Amy and Mackenzie have been covering up the secret.
Yet their efforts have been thrown into doubt after the surprise arrival of Caleb, who managed to grow close to the youngster and learnt the truth of the crime.
After a level of coaxing on Friday evening’s scenes to present evidence to the crime, Kyle finally fessed up to the police – but will they believe him?
Emmerdale fans were left doubtful the evidence Kyle presented could be enough to prove he was behind Al’s shooting in the barn on the outskirts on the village earlier this month.
Kyle told the police officers as he sat down for questioning alongside his mum Amy that the plastic bag contained a jumper he had worn the day of the shooting – and it had Al’s blood on it.
Yet as Kyle poured out his first hand account of the fateful barn shooting, Emmerdale fans were left spotting holes in the evidence plot.
Taking to Twitter, one fan questioned: “That proves Kyle was there when Al was killed but doesn’t prove he killed him?”
A second wrote: “Oh my god no Kyle… how did he get blood on the jumper and how did he still have it?! Surely they’d have got rid of that?! Not like you’d keep it!”
Another similarly questioned: “Why did no one think of moving the evidence for Kyle??? I mean enough people knew the villages worst kept secret.”
This comes after Emmerdale spoilers have revealed the police will soon descend on the villagers to question them about the crime.
It all kicks off when some news causes the police to act, and they soon swarm on Kyle's house and begin questioning his loved ones.
Amy and Mackenzie are elsewhere, but they too are approached by officers and told to go to the station to answer some questions.
So is the game up for Kyle and the others, and how will Cain react to Kyle's confession?
