Emmerdale fans have slammed tonight's episode for it's "unrealistic" details surrounding Jacob's stabbing. The youngster was stabbed by Leyla's drug dealer in Wednesday night's episode and had seemingly been left for dead.
However, in tonight's episode, Leyla and David finally found Jacob - who was still alive. The pair had used his phone tracker to drive to his last known location, which was underneath the viaduct.
As the pair got out of David's veg van, he found a bloodied knife on the ground. Leyla then rang Jacob's phone and the ringtone took them straight to him, bloodied and unconscious - but living.
As David was leaning down to pick Jacob up, Leyla noticed the bloody knife on the ground and, with a sideways glance to make sure David was not looking, picked it up and took it away - not realising that he had already seen the knife.
She then phoned an ambulance but was told that there would be a minimum wait of 20 minutes, so she and David took matters into the own hands. The pair drove Jacob to the hospital, in the back of David's van.

Once in hospital, Liam and Eric arrived and both were worried sick about Jacob, whom doctors had said was in a "critical" condition. He had sustained life-threatening stab wounds to his liver, which is where the suspension of disbelief got a little too much for some viewers to bear.
@flicksfan said: "Jacob stabbed in the liver & lying outside in January all night? Wouldn’t he bleed out & get hypothermia as well?" @JULESC__ said: "Seriously [eye roll emoji] He'd have died from hypothermia never mind nearly all his body blood that he would have lost".
@jeaniethepixie said: "There's no way he'd have survived left out in the cold overnight with a stab wound like that!" @comedyeats said: "The 3 inch knife went into his chest and down through the lungs, diaphragm and into his liver…. Erm.. nope".
@JamieTVandNews said: "Stabbed in the liver and survived all that time". @Labona said: "Such a load of rubbish. When Leyla called the ambulance, she told them that her son has been stabbed. A police response would have been automatically triggered.."
@PaulPoeUK said: "Geneine question, why does every injury on The Dingles, knock you clean out for hours? He would have bled out by now. It’s so unrealistic."
After learning that Jacob was in surgery with serious injuries, the truth came out about just why he had been under the viaduct in the first place. Leyla revealed that she had bought cocaine earlier that night and Jacob found out, returning to visit the drug dealer and taking the knife with him to confront the dealer.
And the plot thickened still, when Leyla revealed that the knife was hers, after David had been imploring her to hand it over to the police. She told him: "That is my knife, Jacob must have taken it with him. Well think about it, Jacob arranged the meeting didn't he, he probably took it with him for self defense."
The episode concluded with David telling Leyla that he wanted her as far away from Jacob as possible, leading to many slamming David as a 'hypocrite'.
