Amelia Spencer's pregnancy came as a shock to Emmerdale viewers as many guessed at who the dad could be, but all was finally revealed on Thursday’s episode of the ITV soap.
When she was questioned about the father of her baby while at the abortion clinic, Amelia told a nurse he was a "teenager" just like her.
Soap watches have since been scratching their heads, wondering who it could be, only to learn it is none other than Samson Dingle, who slept with Amelia at a party in recent months.
Samson had been trying to turn his friendship with Amelia into a more romantic connection, but she only had eyes for Noah – or so it seemed.
Samson was left stunned by the revelation, which rebellious youngster Noah broke to him as he celebrated a stellar set of results for his GCSEs.
Yet Samson quickly turned nasty in the village as he insulted Amelia’s personality, looks and then chased her through Emmerdale insisting she “get rid” of the baby.
Given that Samson is typically the sweet and softly-spoken teen in the village, several fans were left baffled by the sudden change in his character.
Taking to Twitter, one fan moaned: “WTF have they done to Samson? He was the nicest lad in the village, good mates with Amelia, and now he's ripping into her & disrespecting her like that?
“This programme, seriously. Has he had a personality transplant?”
Another fan wrote: “Why is Samson being so horrible about Amelia when he literally worshipped the ground she walked on 5 minutes ago.”
“What the f*** have they done to Samson? Please for the love of god someone step in and remove the management at Emmerdale HQ,” a third wrote.
“Samson has had a personality transplant from the last episode to this one, why is he being so horrible about Amelia all of a sudden?” another fan demanded.
One wrote: “Has Samson had a personality transplant ? - where’s the shy, nice, relaxed Samson gone,” as another echoed: “Hang on when did Samson get so nasty Emmerdale changing characters personalities not a new thing.”
Another summed up: “Samson and Noah have literally switched personalities within the space of an episode, the writing makes no sense.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV.
