Emmerdale fans have been left convinced Liv Dingle could still be alive after being crushed by a caravan last week during dramatic scenes to mark the 50th anniversary of the ITV soap.
The soap followed up the death of Harriet by killing off yet another hugely popular character as a casualty of the gale-force winds whipping through the village.
Liv's tragic death saw her pinned against a wall by a flying caravan while trying to make her way to the Woolpack with husband Vinny.
Once emergency services had rushed to the scene, paramedics on the scene informed the family that Liv was being kept alive by the compression of the caravan and to remove it would kill her quicker.
Liv said an emotional goodbye to her brother Aaron and husband Vinny before dying in Vinny’s arms.
Vinny tried to comfort Liv with his dreams of taking her travelling, but Liv made it clear she knew her fate when she encouraged him to ‘go do those things’ once she was gone.
Fans of the ITV soap were left devastated by the heartbreaking scenes, but some now believe Liv could have survived her injuries and faked her death.
Some fans seem to think she could be desperate to escape her mother Sandra, who tried to swindle Liv out of her inheritance money.
After Sandra said she wants to attend her daughter’s funeral, the shock twist could be a way of ensuring her future family’s safety from her evil mum.
Taking to Twitter to air their theories, one fan commented: “So hear me out… I know Liv in Emmerdale is probably definitely dead… but what if she’s still alive?”
They went on to add: “She could have been worried about Sandra coming back for more, so she faked her death and only told Vinny and Aaron…
“Then when they go to see the body, passed her ring back to Vinny to complete the ruse. Probably wrong, but a theory I’m holding onto anyway!”
It comes after star Isobel Steele spoke out on her exit from the soap, taking to Instagram to write: “And that’s a wrap on Liv Dingle. Hard to put into words what this show and the people in it mean to me and how big a decision it was to leave.
“Thank you to every single person I ever worked with and to those that pushed me to be a better person and a better actor.
“Thank you to everyone who watches the show and has supported me throughout, none of it went unnoticed. Thank you to Kate Oates, Ian MacLeod & Jane Hudson.
“I love you all so much, you know who you are. The most bizarre and wonderful place to have grown up. I’m gonna miss it so much. On to the next!”
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV.
