Emmerdale fans believe they may have suggested at a major twist for Paddy Kirk on the ITV soap after the character shared a touching scene with Mandy Dingle on Tuesday evening.
The speculation comes amid Paddy’s wife Chas Dingle’s ongoing secret affair with Al Chapman in the village.
Despite the pair being caught by both Belle and Aaron Dingle, they have managed to keep the major secret under wraps, as Chas promised she would break it off.
However, Chas has continued her affair with things getting serious with Al as they both declared their love for one another.
With the likelihood of their affair being exposed to Paddy at any moment, soap fans have now predicted that Paddy could turn to Mandy to deal with the heartbreak.
It comes as Mandy has already leaned on Paddy as she supports Vinny through his heartbreak over wife Liv Flaherty’s death in the village during the epic storm last week.
Long-time soap fans will recall Paddy and Mandy were married on the ITV soap after tying the knot in 1999, but their relationship didn't last long.
However, the pair continue to spend more time with each other after witnessing Liv’s heartbreaking death, before they teamed up to search for missing Samson Dingle.
Soap watchers now think the former couple could rekindle their romance if and when Paddy finds out about Chas' betrayal.
Taking to Twitter during Tuesday evening’s episode, one fan wrote: “Loving Paddy and Mandy getting close again... get them back together, Chas was never right for him!”
A second tweeted: “Yep, Paddy and Mandy will definitely get back together,” as a third added: “I wish paddy and Mandy would get back together.”
“Setting up Mandy and Paddy for after Paddy finds out about Chas,” another wrote as one fan added: “Paddy & Mandy need to be reunited.”
This comes after the ITV soap released a new trailer showing Cain Dingle finally discovering that Chas is having an affair with Al.
The trailer shows Chas telling Cain: "If you've got something to say, just say it", before it cuts to Cain answering her phone to hear Al on the other end and realising what has been going on.
Cain, who has just gone through watching his mum Faith's final moments, decides to take matters into his own hands as their feud comes to a head.
He corners Al in the barn and threatens him with a gun, where he tells Al: "You're not going to be seeing her again."
