Emmerdale fans have predicted a major twist is on the way, after a discovery about Jamie Tate on the ITV soap.
A few months ago, Jamie's true fate was exposed by Gabby Thomas, the mother of his baby son Thomas, after his presumed death.
Fans know that Jamie faked his death in a car accident in September, and he has been staying with his former mother-in-law Hazel, and his daughter Millie.
Will Taylor recently learned that Jamie, the son of his partner Kim Tate, could still be alive and did some digging.
They still have no concrete proof of him being alive, even after Will secretly hired an investigator to find him.
PI Mike asked Will to do a DNA test, to compare baby Thomas' DNA to the person they had tracked down - with the person appearing to look like Jamie.
The mystery man had been spotted hanging around outside Hazel's house.
The shady investigator charged £3,000 for the results, only for them to reveal the man couldn't have been Jamie, as they didn't match the DNA of baby Thomas.
But some viewers believed there was more to this, and perhaps the DNA results proved more than he had realised.
While some suggested Mike was simply using Will for money, and the man might actually have been Jamie, others questioned whether Jamie was really baby Thomas' father.
After all, Mike said it wasn't Jamie because his DNA didn't match that of Thomas
.
Some fans are now wondering if it was in fact Jamie he had seen, and whether the reason there was no match was because Jamie isn't Thomas' biological father.
While there was no suggestion as to who was actually the dad, fans believed they were on to something.
Taking to Twitter, one viewer said: "The DNA not matching doesn’t mean that it’s not Jamie Tate. It could also mean that Thomas is not Jamie Tate’s son."
A second fan agreed: "Do we think this storyline is were going to find out baby Thomas ain’t Jamie’s after all? I don’t know why else they are going on about it when he’s not even returning."
Another fan added: "I think it is Jamie, i don't think the baby is his," which was echoed by a fourth viewer who said: "No I don’t think Jamie’s the father, DNA didn’t match."
