Emmerdale fans rejoice as soap goes back to 'the good old days' in rare scenes

Emmerdale fans welcomed a return to "the good old days" of the popular Yorkshire soap, after a number of scenes took place on a farm.

During Monday's episode, Rhona was shown spending time at Moira's farm, where she was asked to take a look at one of her sheep. However, throughout the visit, Rhona received numerous calls from her mother, who was looking after her fiancé Marlon, who is recovering at home from a devastating stroke.

She received a call from her mum Mary as she went to take a look at the animal, but viewers of the soap were distracted by something else.

Fans were shocked to see agriculture on the show, with one writing on Twitter: "A bit of farming like the good old days. The way it should be."

Another viewer joked: "Must ring up David Attenborough to ask what species is on Emmerdale. Haven't seen these in a while!"

One posted a clip of a woman fainting, joking: "Seeing actual farm animals on #Emmerdale!!!"

User @PardonMelmBlunt took the opportunity to compare the soap's initial stories about farming with its current storylines, writing: "Pant-sniffing teen stalkers. Wooden as f*** villains. Desperate drug storylines. Couples without chemistry. Bad continuity in illness symptoms. You'd never guess this used to be about farming once!"
