Emmerdale fans predict chilling Marcus theory after 'creepy' scene with Charles

Emmerdale viewers have predicted a chilling new plot for Marcus Dean, believing his latest antics could point to some "creepy" behaviour.

The son of former village villain Pierce Harris is currently living in the Dales, with his boyfriend Ethan Anderson.

This week, Marcus was shown trying to help Ethan and his dad Charles to locate his long-lost daughter, Naomi.

Naomi has never met her father or brother, and they only found out about her existence last year.

Following news from Naomi's mother Esme that she had gone missing, Charles was desperate to find her despite having no idea what she looked like, or where she might be found.

Marcus turned detective and searched through social media, and eventually came across someone who was likely Naomi.

As Charles and Ethan were stunned to now know what Naomi looked like, with a chance of finding her, they were thrilled with Marcus' help.

But viewers watching at home feared it actually proved Marcus could be a bit of a stalker, and that Ethan should watch out.

Taking to Twitter, one fan said: "So Marcus basically telling Ethan he has stalker skills - nothing to be worried about there then."

Another agreed: "Top stalkery from Marcus there," as a third fan said: "Ewww that's a bit creepy Marcus."

It comes after actor Darcy Grey spilled the beans that there could be a huge twist in store for Marcus later this year.

Speaking exclusively to the Mirror on the British Soap Awards red carpet in June, Darcy teased what was ahead.

"I remember the guys going, 'be careful, because we're not sure how the audience are going to react to you' because obviously the history between me and my dad," he said.

"Let's just say everyone's been really, really nice and positive. I think everyone's expecting Marcus to be maybe a little bit more evil than they expected but time will tell about how that will unfold."

Quizzed on what fans could expect from the 50th episode, he said: "I mean, we have to make something special, we have to do something important to show this part of British culture and history. So we want to make sure we keep the fans happy in that sense. It's a soap opera - it's big and it's loud and that's all I can say."

Asked whether he was involved, the actor coyly replied: "I'm somewhat involved, maybe. I'll keep adding to this mysterious allure."

When probed on whether it could be linked to his past secret, he replied vaguely with a grin: " I don't know, maybe! Good thoughts though, I like it."

Darcy admitted that he was sad he didn't get to have anymore scenes with Jonathan Wrather, who played his dad Pierce: "I think everybody wants to see it, I think everybody would love to see it. I'm upset we didn't get to spend more onscreen time together at the time, so we'll see."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
