ITV's Lorraine swapped its usual filming location in the London studios for a trip to Yorkshire on Wednesday. The morning programme was live in Emmerdale's Woolpack pub on October 12 to celebrate 50 years of the soap opera, which first broadcast on our screens in October 1972.
Viewers who tuned in were able to get a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse at the filming studios, including the wardrobe and make-up departments. There were also some sneak peek clips of the Emmerdale crew setting up the village to film the big storm.
As well as getting to pull a pint behind the iconic bar and reveal what the Woolpack toilets really look like, Lorraine Kelly interviewed four of the show's cast members. Dean Andrews, who plays Will Taylor; Daisy Campbell who plays Amelia Spencer; Nicola Wheeler, who plays Nicola King and Chris Bisson who plays Jai Sharma all joined Wednesday's programme to talk about their time on Emmerdale and the upcoming storylines.
Excitement has been building amongst fans ahead of the landmark anniversary, which officially falls on October 16 and will see an hour-long episode air on ITV, and viewers praised the special edition of Lorraine on social media. Others added that they couldn't wait to watch the upcoming Emmerdale episodes, which will see the storm wreak havoc on the village.
