Emmerdale fans have slammed Dr Liam Cavanagh for making a glaring error as he was visited by police over Meena.
The village GP was initially arrested by police after evil serial killer Meena Jutla made an accusation that he had deliberately pushed her off the bridge and not in self-defence as he had claimed.
But in tonight's episode, he was quickly let go by the police, who insisted it was all just a misunderstanding.
Instead, they took Meena in to question her over the murders of Andrea Tate, Leanna Cavanagh, Ben Tucker and her friend Nadine Butler, as well as holding her sister Manpreet Sharma and Vinny Dingle hostage.
After a lengthy interview with Meena, the police headed back to hospital to speak to Leyla Cavanagh, who was shot by Meena earlier in the week when she came across Billy Fletcher and Dawn Taylor being held hostage.
The detective spoke to Liam outside and informally told him that he needed hard evidence to convict Meena, or that she could end up getting away with her crimes. He also told her that Meena had admitted to killing Ben in self-defence.
But Liam was understandably enraged by the detective's admission.
Speaking outside Leyla's hospital room, he said: "So she can get away with this? Never have to face any charges?" as the detective vowed to do "whatever it takes" to ensure Meena was up in court for all of her crimes.
"Please," Liam told him, "Everything in your power. We can't let her win. Because if I can't get justice for my beautiful daughter, I'll have no choice. I'll just have to make sure I get it another way."
Fans were shocked by Liam's admission - and thought it was silly of him to tell the detective that.
"Saying that to a copper Liam, you're brave but understandable in these circumstances!! #Emmerdale @emmerdale," one wrote, as a second added: "I would overshare to the police like that too tbh #Emmerdale."
