Emmerdale fans in soap heaven as ITV to air 'record-breaking' three episodes tonight

Soap schedules are continuing to change this week as coverage surrounding the death of Queen Elizabeth II remains top priority for the channels.

The broadcaster and other channels have been continuously revising their published schedules following the death of Her Majesty The Queen. This meant Emmerdale and Coronation Street were axed from their usual time slots to allow for extended news coverage.

However Emmerdale fans are pleased to know show bosses will air back-to-back episodes tonight to make up for the scheduling conflict. Fans will be caught up on the latest happenings in the countryside village of the Yorkshire Dales. The triple bill will begin from 7:30pm and an hour of Coronation Street will follow at 9pm.

ITV reintroduced Emmerdale back into the schedule on Tuesday, while Coronation Street aired on Monday night at its usual time of 8pm.

Tonight's triple bill of action from the Dales has delighted fans. Michelle tweeted: Cant wait for triple @emmerdale and an hour long episode of @itvcorrie tonight

Beth added: "TRIPLE Emmerdale AND Corrie, damn. That’s a record for as long as I’ve watched…"

Not everyone was happy though. Mark Kelly tweeted: It's absolutely ridiculous it's been on non-stop for a week on every news channel

TV disruption will continue into next week, with the National Television Awards being postponed until Thursday October 13. Meanwhile, the BBC has announced that Strictly Come Dancing's launch will also not ago ahead as planned. It's now expected to air on Saturday September 24.

Celebrity MasterChef's highly anticipated final has now been delayed by a week and will broadcast on Thursday September 22.
