Emmerdale fans couldn't believe it as 'self-confessed hard man' Cain Dingle dressed up as a superhero during tonight's show.
Whilst Meena Jutla was interviewed by police over her involvement in the murders of four people, the attempted murder of several others and the kidnapping of two village residents, Cain and his son Kyle were having a much more fun time.
Kyle had stopped seeing his dad for a while, after admitting he was scared of him, but Cain was keen to reassure him and promised his son he would do anything he wants to make him happy and prove how much he loves him.
In order to show his son how much he cared, Cain agreed to dress up as a superhero with Kyle - complete with a superhero mask, a cape made out of a towel and bright red boxers over his jeans.
And it was bad enough for Cain having to dress up like that - but then Kyle wanted to go to the shop to get some sweets and Cain had to do as he wanted, still dressed like a superhero.
Fans of the ITV soap took to Twitter to joke about Cain's get up.
"Cain dressed as a Superhero has made My Night @ emmerdale @HordleyJeff," one fan wrote, as a second added: "Cain's hard man look has just gone straight out of the window #emmerdale."
A third shared: "Cain dressed as a superhero. Dear god," with a fourth writing: "Funniest thing I've seen in a long time ... Cain!"
"Well it was worth tuning #Emmerdale on #Cainthepinksuperhero," a fifth shared.
A sixth added: "Hahahaha never thought I would see Cain in a superhero costume."
It comes after Emmerdale bosses teased there will be some explosive 50th anniversary plans for October, which involves a huge showdown between Cain Dingle and Al Chapman.
"Cain and Al's feud is definitely not offer as you will see. Something will happen which will make these two men have to look at their relationship with each other. There's definitely going to be an explosive Cain and Al moment," show bosses told The Mirror.
"I think the viewers will really enjoy it as these two men are constantly at war with each other."
