Emmerdale fans fear for Marshall as dad's hateful stance appears to soften

Emmerdale fans fear for Marshall's safety despite his dad's ostensible newfound tolerance.

Colin Hamston (Mark Noble) packed his gay son Marshall (Max Fletcher) off to boarding school after subjecting him to homophobic abuse. But Colin's stance appeared to soften towards the end of tonight's episode.

Ben Powell said: "Come on Laurel, sort this mess out. I can’t see Marshall’s dad leaving it like this. There’s more to come I think."

Cherry Jackson said: "Marshall’s going to get battered."

Shaky said: "Oh Laurel, you have no idea what Marshall's dad is like."

Bee McGowan said: "That wasn’t exactly a supportive slap on Marshal’s back as his father took him away."

And Sukavi2011 said: "I don't think this is going to end well with Marshall. Dad's putting on a Mr Nice Guy front."

Tonight's episode saw Marlon try to cheer up a profoundly depressed Paddy. But other sympathetic fans offered some fairly sound advice.
