Emmerdale fans are convinced is related to Kim Tate in a shock DNA twist.
Nicky the nanny has just found out he's got a permanent job at Home Farm, after impressing his bosses including Kim and Gabby. Unbeknownst to everyone else, he and Gabby have embarked on a relationship, with it seeming pretty serious between the pair.
However, fans are sure there's something not quite right about Nicky and they believe he has some sort of ulterior motive to being at Home Farm and a reason why he ended up getting so close to Gabby so quickly.
One fan has now shared a wild theory that suggests Nicky must be related to someone in the village as he is never credited with his last name on the ITV soap, with some convinced that it means he's hiding a link to a current resident.
Taking to Twitter, one fan suggested: "Probably overthinking it but a good indicator there is that something is up with Caleb & Nicky is that Nicky has been in the show for months and strangely no last name???
"That has me thinking he is related to someone already in the village... me thinks Kim # Emmerdale."
Actor Lewis Cope has teased Nicky does have a big secret - and there is a reason he wants to be with Gabby.
He said: "Yeah, he seems to have a huge interest in Gabby. He's got his reasons why he wants to be with her which will all come out eventually," and asked whether his character was hiding something, he hinted there was something untoward, adding: "I think Nicky has got a lot going on, and maybe with it being a soap there is more."
He loves seeing the fan theories that are shared on social media - which have included Nicky is working with someone else such as Caleb or former residents Joe Tate or Jamie Tate to get Home Farm.
"The fan theories have been great. It has been nice to see how other people view the situation and the character, and just the madness of what people come up with has been fun," he shared to The Mirror and other press.
Soap bosses did tease in December though that he may have a secret, and not everything may be as it seems.
