Emmerdale fans disappointed as Kim Tate is 'replaced'

Emmerdale fans were left disappointed on Tuesday evening as they felt Kim Tate had been "replaced".

Kim turned up at Dingle Farm to apologise to Lydia after her husband Sam was accused of stealing Kim's husband Will's watch. Lydia staunchly defended Sam, and it turned out baby Thomas had been playing with the watch, it hadn't been stolen at all.

A grovelling Kim said how sorry she was and offered Sam and Lydia their jobs back at Home Farm.

But Lydia wasn't ready to let Kim off the hook just yet. She told her she would be raising both hers and Sam's pay, and that she would strictly be doing her job, and no longer be a friend to Kim.

She said: "I have always been there for you, defended you. That one time we needed you to have our backs. Where were you? You're supposed to be my friend."

Lydia added: "Next time you need someone to organise a hen do or to stick up for you when everyone else is slagging you off, you can find some other mug".

Many people watching at home took issue with the scene, as Kim is known as being tough and taking no prisoners. Taking to Twitter, Jessica said: "Back in the day Kim would have smacked Lydia. Why have they replaced her with a wet lettuce #emmerdale".

Pam said: "Is that humble pie in front of Kim?", while Ben said: "A few years ago Kim would have ripped Lydia to shreds, not stood there grovelling". Paul said: "Classic Kim would have had the Dingles' cottage bulldozed for that back lip", and Georgia said: "Since when did Kim ever let anyone speak to her like that?"

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX
