Emmerdale fans demand to know where 'missing' character is

Emmerdale fans have been treated to some dramatic story-lines in recent weeks.

Friday's trip to the Dales continued to hone in on Leyla's drug addiction. The character, played by Roxy Shahidi, has been living a double life for weeks, hiding her cocaine habit from her husband Liam and her son, Jacob.

Liam finally realised something was up - but he didn't manage to twig that she'd been taking drugs. He thought Leyla may have been acting strange due to a pregnancy.

However, Leyla took a pregnancy test and told Liam it was negative. Elsewhere Chas, who is struggling to process her mum's terminal cancer diagnosis, has found herself attracted to Al.

The two shared a kiss, and made plans to meet away from the village. Viewers were distracted by something else, though.

Some soap fans couldn't help but notice an Emmerdale favourite was missing. Village vet Vanessa Woodfield, played by Michelle Hardwick, has not long returned to the soap after taking some time out on maternity leave.

Viewers were thrilled when she came back, and now they're saddened to have not seen her since the beginning of June. Taking to Twitter, Kate Murray said: "PC Harriet, please put out an APB for Vanessa Woodfield. She’s been missing from #Emmerdale for weeks now".

VanityPending said: "Are Emmerdale name dropping Vanessa to remind us she is actually still in the soap?". Jessica said: "Erm where is Vanessa? Seriously". Missy D said: "It's getting a joke now, where's Vanessa?"
