Emmerdale viewers were left "cringing" at David’s extravagant proposal to Victoria as they labelled them "Poundland Beckhams" on Wednesday night.
David isn’t having much luck when it comes to his love life and things don’t seem to be picking up. During tonight’s episode of the ITV soap he decided that he was going to pop the question and propose to Victoria.
But Eric thought it would be wise to not rush things and instead take his time, however David didn’t listen. Meanwhile Victoria had no idea what David is planning.

Later Victoria met David in the woods for the big romantic surprise. David was bursting with excitement as he got down on one knee and proposes.
But he was left speechless as Victoria rejected his proposal, clearly not happy with the surprise as she insisted it was way too much.
Later Victoria went to see David in the shop and apologised for her bad reaction. Heart-broken David felt he ruined things and told Victoria to have a long hard think about what she really wants.
It seems viewers were also unimpressed at the "cringe" proposal as they went straight to social media and slammed the "ridiculous storyline."
@JordanPhelps21 Tweeted: “Sod off Poundland Beckhams!! #Emmerdale.” @FLady1980 commented: “#Emmerdale Poundland posh n becks at it again.”
@VanityPending wrote: “David and Vic are the definition of cringe and we haven’t seen enough of them to warrant this proposal #emmerdale.”
@NoreenClarke151 said: “#Emmerdale Here we go again David's love life going downhill. Why can't he just settle down with someone....its getting boring .”
While Kathlee53178282 added: “Omg David with the Romeo and Juliet love affair again, no storylines just another load of cobblers. "#Emmerdale C'mon, ridiculous storyline.”
