Emmerdale’s Chas Dingle could finally see her affair with Al Chapman exposed on the ITV soap after Belle made a discovery.
While Al is now dead and buried, the secrets behind his last few months alive continue to haunt the village as Chas desperately tries to conceal that they were having an affair.
However, the truth has been gradually creeping out after Kerry’s daughter Chloe came across damning evidence of his double life with liaisons at the Yellow Albatross Hotel – and the penny finally dropped for Belle on Wednesday.
As the torn character finally told Moira the truth of the matter at the end of the episode, ecstatic fans took to Twitter to predict drama on the soap in coming days.
One wrote: “Belle told Moira about Al and Chas' affair oh my gosh it's about to go down.”
A second echoed: “Well well well Chas is about to get a lovely glasgow kiss,” as a third celebrated: “Bring on the fireworks.”
“Go on Belle tell Moira cos I can guarantee she will DEFINITELY do something about it!” another wrote.
A fellow fan chimed: “OH MY DAYS Go on Belle, now can Moira please blab it out to everyone else in the village,” as another penned: “It’s all going to kick off now that Moira knows!”
The scenes came after Chas had finally overcome her grief at the loss of Al and this week dedicated herself to a life with Paddy – just as things could now come tumbling out.
Supported by Paddy, Chas has been spending loved up scenes with her family as she and Eve decorate the Christmas tree and enjoyed a family dinner with Rhona and Marlon, which leaves Chas now finally ready to put Al in the past and appreciate her family.
However, things have taken a turn elsewhere in the village, as Chloe told Belle that Al took someone out to dinner the night Faith died – when the penny dropped for Belle, as she realised Chas never actually ended her affair with Al.
Later, Belle confronted Chas about being at Westgrove Hall Hotel with Al the night Faith died.
Chas was cornered and unable to deny the affair any longer, prompting Belle to suggest this was why Cain killed Al.
Chas wondered whether to admit to believing this theory too and was left manic with fear, terrified Belle will tell the family.
In later scenes, Belle broke down in front of Moira as she admitted what she knows, leaving Chas’ sister-in-law furious as she began to put two and two together over Cain’s imprisonment and Al’s death.
Chas prepared for a surprise trip away with Paddy, relieved they are both getting away from it all… But are they?
