Emmerdale fans can't help but laugh as Bob interrupts Mandy and Sam's toast

Emmerdale fans couldn't help but laugh as Bob burst into the Dingles' home during Thursday's episode.

The character, played by Tony Audenshaw, has been taking a back seat from the drama of late. But when his daughter was found in floods of tears, the doting dad sprung into action.

Earlier scenes saw Dan teasing Samson in the cafe over his "relationship" with Cathy. A misunderstanding had led some villagers to believe the two were an item.

Wanting to set her straight, Samson told Cathy they were not going out. He said he wasn't interested "not then, not now and not ever".

Later, as Mandy and Sam sat down to raise a toast to mark a year since she almost got married, Bob flung himself into their living room without announcing his entrance. As he started shouting and threatening to "box Samson's ears", Mandy wanted to know why he had burst into their home.

Bob explained Samson's words had upset Cathy and said he had basically told her she "wasn't fit to shine his shoes". An innocent Sam asked: "Why would she want to shine his shoes?"

His comments had viewers in stitches. Taking to Twitter, Liam Mellor said: "'Why would she wanna shine his shoes?' Sam is class [cry-laughing emoji]"

VampLover27 said: "Classic Sam", while Matthew Chapman said: "Bob V Sam is too ridiculous for words". Bethany Smirth said: "Sam and Bob I'm screaming"

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
