Emmerdale fans are united in their hatred of this one character

Emmerdale saw a dramatic car smash this week, but fans of the programme aren't talking about the young girl fighting for her life in hospital. Instead, they are all directing their rage at one character.

Thursday's (May 25) episode of the ITV soap saw Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes) taken for surgery after a car crash. Her mum Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) was at the wheel and feeling very stressed.

When her stress levels built up over a missed dental appointment and hapless husband Jimmy (Nick Miles), Nicola lost her focus. Her car smashed into Moira Dingle's (Natalie J Robb) truck on a difficult junction.

Cue Nicola's terrifying wait for her daughter to undergo medical treatment. But the sympathies of viewers were not with Nicola as she lashed out at Moira in the aftermath of the accident.

In fact, it's fair to say that soap fans were united in their dislike for the mum.

Bobby Dazzler @unsworth1live tweeted: "#Emmerdale that’s it Nicola put the blame on anyone other than yourself. She nudged out without looking. That’s your fault not Moira’s."

Michelle @mishybabez_ wasn't blaming anyone for the incident: "Nicola taking it out on Moira isn't gonna help! It was an accident!! #Emmerdale"

Reviewfix @reviewfix spoke for many, saying: "And now you can see why Nicola is one of my most disliked characters. Even when she’s nice she’s horrible #Emmerdale"

While Ryan Glendenning @RyanTheSoapking added his take: "Don't forget Nicola you're as much to blame as Moira is. Also Angel wore no seatbelt #Emmerdale"

MIKE @mikepriestley13 added: "Nicola you’re losing this battle.. you were driving, you’re a rubbish driver. You silly b*tch #Emmerdale"

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 or you can catch up on ITVX
