Emmerdale dropped an Aaron Dingle bombshell on Wednesday evening as his younger sister Liv Flaherty finally had a glimmer of hope.
Liv is currently behind bars on suspicion of murdering Ben Tucker, and Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) has been desperately trying to prove her innocence.
During the latest episode of the ITV soap, Vinny paid Liv (Isobel Steele) a visit in prison - and she had some very good news.
Telling him about her visit from her solicitor, Liv said: "When I went in the room he was smiling. they've found new evidence, Vin.
"I dunno what it is but I'm going to court tomorrow for a hearing, fingers crossed! I think they're gonna let me out!" she added as they both laughed excitedly.
"Oh tell the family, no grudges, and Aaron, make sure he knows about the hearing," she told Vinny as he left the prison.
Later on, Vinny was seen celebrating the news with his mum Mandy (Lisa Riley) and Lydia - but it was soon cut short as Chas (Lucy Pargeter) paid them a visit.
"Just so you all now I've screamed myself hoarse at my son today," Chas began.
"Why what's happened?" Vinny asked looking concerned.
"He's not coming. He's thrilled for her and he loves her, but he's not coming back," Chas replied.
"He's got his own issues," she added, as Mandy replied: "Issues? I've got issues coming out my ears."
"Yeah but he's her brother. It's complicated, they set each other off, and if she goes back on the booze..." Chas replied as Vinny shouted: "She won't."
Back in November 2021, actor Danny Miller confirmed he had quit his role as Aaron after 13 years on the ITV soap.
Speaking to the Mirror at a press roundtable event, he explained that he was "very emotional" about his decision and that it had been a "big part" of his life.
He cited the tough soap filming schedules as one of the reasons he wanted to leave and said that he wanted to be around more for his family after welcoming a baby boy with his fiancée Steph.
"I'd like to think that I'm very, very far away from Aaron and that's part of the reason why I wanted to do this show," he said, referring to I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
"I've actually left Emmerdale, unfortunately, and I've decided to start a new path in life.
"I've got my baby now and I'm getting married next year and it's felt like the right time to open a new chapter in my life - god, my nerves are going because I've not really told anybody!
"I'm very emotional about it, actually. It's been a massive part of my life and it's taught me lots of things. I've been wanting to spread my wings for a while and a show like this gives me the opportunity to see what else happens after it and kind of start a new life with my family and see what happens," he added.
