Emmerdale confirms Meena return as she plots deadly revenge on village resident

Emmerdale spoilers have confirmed Meena Jutla's return to the ITV soap will air next week, as she plots deadly revenge on love rival Dawn Taylor.

It comes as Meena managed to flee the village after her killer crimes were finally exposed last week, and she hasn't been seen or heard from since.

Meena's deadly reign of terror came to an end of sorts on the show in a week of dramatic episodes, but next week she is back.

While it doesn't appear she is in or near the village, she is soon plotting her return once she sees Dawn and Billy Fletcher's 'save the date' for their wedding day.

Meena wanted to murder her ex Billy for choosing Dawn over her, but it seems in the coming weeks she will instead turn her attentions towards her love rival.

Spoilers for next week reveal Meena looking as menacing as ever, as she finds Dawn's 'save the date' online and she seethes at their happy news.

Hellbent on getting her revenge, it seems she's planning on being an unwanted guest - but who is in the firing line?

Liam Cavanagh managed to save Vinny Dingle and Manpreet Sharma from her clutches in recent scenes, before he set off to kill her himself.

Vinny called the police, and it wasn't long before sirens were ringing as a series of police vehicles showed up to find the killer.

Liam had chased Meena into the woods to confront her over the murder of his daughter Leanna last year, one of her four victims.

He never managed to catch up with Meena, who was about to attack him with a huge rock only to see the police coming for her.

But not even they could get the killer in time, who managed to sneak off undetected before being picked up by a random lorry driver named Tommy.

She'd flagged him down and sold him a story that she'd been kicked out of her boyfriend's car, after finding out he was cheating on her.

Meena teased the true events while covering it up with lies, as she flirted with Tommy.

While hiding herself from the window as police cars sped past her, she claimed to have no idea what had gone on as she plotted her escape.

Tommy revealed his next stop on his journey was Glasgow, with Meena declaring she would head for Scotland with him - but that's not all.

She told him her name was Manpreet, stealing the identity of the sister she almost killed.

Bosses have teased "judgement day" for the serial killer, while few details have been confirmed about what she will get up to and when.

"I think it's fair to say that judgement day for Meena is coming. But whether she'll get away with murder you're going to have to wait and find out," executive producer Jane Hudson teased to The Mirror and other press.

"There are still some more twists and turns to be had in this story. Some that you probably won't see coming but I think we can all agree that Meena can pretty much do anything."

She added: "But yes, Meena's judgement day is coming. It won't play out quite as you expect, there will be a lasting effect on a lot of the villagers but I think within the next few months, Meena will get what's coming with her."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
