Emmerdale spoilers have appeared to confirm Ellis Chapman's exit storyline on the ITV soap could air next week.
After recent claims that actor Aaron Anthony quit the show last year, the soap has released new teasers about Ellis leaving for good.
Aaron reportedly quit the soap after bosses launched a race probe against two of its biggest stars.
Insiders claim the Ellis Chapman star is so furious about the alleged behaviour against one of his cast members that he's decided to leave.
It comes after Matthew Wolfenden and Isabel Hodgins became embroiled in claims that a mixed race actress' accent was mimicked.
The stars, who play David Metcalfe and Victoria Sugden, have categorically denied any allegations of wrongdoing.
And it's claimed that Matthew and Aaron rowed after the alleged incident.
It seems Ellis will leave the village, after a recent phone call to air this week that delivers him some unexpected news.
Spoilers for next week's episodes now reveal more about this, and suggest Ellis will break lover Belle Dingle's heart by leaving for good.
It's still not officially confirmed by the soap or the actor that he has left the soap, and that Ellis will be in fact leaving.
Next week though it seems this is the case, when Ellis drops some news on his dad Al Chapman, before leaving Belle with a bombshell.
Spoilers reveal Ellis has been offered a job abroad, and this was what the phone call was about.
Ellis soon tells dad Al he is taking the job, and plans to leave the village soon.
He's left with the difficult task of breaking the news to Belle, ditching her and ending their romance for the new opportunity.
However he doesn't get the chance to tell her the news, as Al mistakenly believes Belle knows the truth and tells her everything.
Al puts his foot in it as Belle reels from the news, just as her and Ellis appear to be getting on track.
Belle is furious to realise Ellis is dumping her, and that she had to find out from Al and not him.
This isn't the first time he's abandoned her, as in 2019 he left the village just as they started dating - while he did soon return.
By the end of the week, Ellis is saying his goodbyes to those in the village including his brother Billy Fletcher.
So it seems this is it for Ellis, with his final scenes seemingly airing next week.
Viewers will have to tune in to see what exactly happens.
