Sometimes life imitates art, and that's exactly what happened between Emmerdale's Eric Pollard and Brenda Walker stars.
Chris Chittell and Lesley Dunlop are together in real life, too, after meeting when she joined the cast back in 2008.
Chris is the ITV soap's longest serving actor, having played the role of Eric since 1986.

Brenda and Eric may be on and off again in Emmerdale, but their love appears to be rock solid in real life, the Daily Star reports.
An engagement for the couple came in 2015, and they then married on June 18, 2016, at a small church ceremony in Cornwall.
The beautiful event took place in front of their close family and friends.
Lesley wore an off-white gown and veil, and Chris looked dapper in a beige three-piece suit.
Of course, seeing as it’s where they fell in love they were joined by Emmerdale co-stars Bhasker Patel, Sam Hall and Nicola Wheeler.
Chris has two children with his ex-wife Caroline Hunt, while Lesley also has two children with her former partner, Christopher Guard.
The couple don’t have any children together.
In an interview with the Daily Record in 2012, Chris said he has Emmerdale to thank for his relationship.
He said: "Everyone thinks it’s the younger members of the cast who have all the fun but we more mature ones do, too.
“It was weird. Somehow we’d never met before and we just kept bumping into each other at work.
“I can’t even remember if I asked her for a date or she asked me but she is wonderful and we’re very happy.
“For some people, working together would be a nightmare but we love it. We make a point of not talking about Emmerdale when we’re at home, though – that would be just too sad, wouldn’t it?
“And we do get strange looks when we’re out sometimes. You can see people getting confused.”
Being a real-life couple has had unexpected benefits for the soap, as social distancing has made steamy storylines very difficult in recent years due to covid.
However, due to being together outside of the show in their family bubble, it meant that Brenda and Eric could actually kiss in the show.
Such displays of affection onscreen were rare throughout the pandemic, in order to keep cast members safe.
