Fans of EastEnders, Coronation Street, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks have been treated to huge scenes and storylines over the years.
This time 10 years ago, in July 2009, some new plots were unfolding, many of which are still referenced today.
From a mental health storyline to a horrifying car crash, there was a lot going on in the lives of some of soap's most known characters.
So what exactly unfolded in the likes of Walford this time a decade ago? Here's all you need to know...
EastEnders
Over in Walford, and Stacey Branning's mental health began to deteriorate with the character tackling a Bipolar storyline - her condition is something still regularly mentioned on the soap.
Her mum Jean also has the condition, and in 2009 Stacey began to go off the rails following the death of her friend Danielle.
In June, Stacey returned after running away and in the coming weeks Jean realised she had to do something to help her daughter as she continued to act erratically.
Elsewhere, and Archie was tearing the Mitchells apart, while Syed was struggling to hide his feelings for Christian.
There was a shock affair between Dawn Swann and Phil Mitchell too, while a pregnancy twist rocked the Square.
Heather Trott's baby secret was exposed as a 'Who's the Daddy?' storyline got underway.
Emmerdale
In the Dales, and a deadly car crash rocked the village after an unattended van headed straight for the corner shop.
Doug Potts, Leyla Harding and Ryan Lamb were all left trapped as the shop collapsed around them, leaving Ryan badly injured.
Aaron Dingle had seen the runaway van and attempted to stop it with the help of newcomer John Barton, but didn't manage to prevent the disaster.
Poor Aaron ended up getting blamed, with villagers including mum Chas thinking he was stealing the van only for James to support him.
This month also marked the arrival of Aaron's future best pal Adam Barton, and the Barton family.
Moira and Matty, formerly Hannah, are now the only two members from the original family remaining after Holly and John both died, while Adam went on the run.
Elsewhere, Bob began an affair with Gennie Walker behind wife Viv Hope's back, while she was in prison.
Coronation Street
Maria Connor went into labour while on a beach in dramatic scenes, before giving birth to her son Liam.
Both characters are still on the soap now, while other characters featuring hugely at this time are not.
Former characters Jason Grimshaw and Tina McIntyre embarked on a romance, much to the annoyance of her ex David Platt.
Meanwhile, there was heartache for Ashley and Claire Peacock after she suffered a miscarriage.
The character had collapsed after acting out of character, only to learn she was pregnant but sadly lost the baby.
Claire confessed to Ashley that following her previous battle with post-natal depression, she didn't want to have any more children.
Hollyoaks
Asides the usual drama going on in Hollyoaks in July 2009, a shock romance occured.
Fresh from her heartache after boyfriend Justin Burton ran away, Hannah Ashworth fell into the arms of Darren Osborne.
The pair ended up drunkenly getting married one night, with Hannah thankful to learn nothing actually happened between them.
Darren later surprised her though by popping the question for real.
