Emmerdale star Anna Friel has been in the acting world since she was 13 and made her first screen appearance as Susan Nelson in the BAFTA-nominated miniseries G.B.H.
Later she went on to make brief appearances in two ITV hit soaps playing the role of Poppy Bruce on Emmerdale in 1992 and Belinda Johnson on Coronation Street in 1991.
However has her big break when she started in the series Brookside from 1993 to 1995 playing the role of Beth Jordache.

Despite from her performance in the series it was her lesbian kiss in it that brought her prominence in the entertainment industry.
And things seemed to get better for Anna as she went on to appear in multiple films but earned international fame in 2007 when she played the role of Charlotte "Chuck" Charles in Pushing Daisies.
Anna made her film debut in 1998 starting in The Land Girls and went on to appear in various features, which included A Midsummer Night's Dream, Rogue Trader, Sunset Strip, Me Without You Timeline and many more.
Outside film she has starred in numerous British and American television series, such as The Jury and The Girlfriend Experience.
Due to her acting career success she has has achieved many awards which included an International Emmy Award, a Drama Desk Award, a National Television Award, an RTS Award, and an honorary degree, as well as BAFTA Award, Golden Globe Award, Satellite Award, Saturn Award, Genie Award and Czech Lion Award nominations.
When it comes to her personal life the star likes to keep it incredibly private however with her exes also being in the limelight it can be hard to.
Anna started dating David Thewlis in 2001 after meeting on a flight to Cannes.
David is best known for his roles in the Harry Potter films as Remus Lupin, The Theory of Everything alongside Eddie Redmayne and the 2020 Netflix film I'm Thinking of Ending Things.
The pair didn’t get married but they have a daughter, Gracie who was born in 2005 and has now gone off to follow in her parents footsteps and start an acting career of her own.
Things didn’t work out for Anna and David as they split in 2010 after almost ten years together but have remained on great terms and both live close by to co-parent Gracie.
Anna went on to date fellow actor Rhys Ifans for three years, but they called it quits in 2014. Much like with her split from David, the two remained great friends.
Most recently, Anna has been dating army officer Mark Jaworski for the past few years. However, Anna had another brush with heartbreak as the two decided to part ways at the beginning of lockdown.
The actress has dated a number of other famous faces including Darren Day and Robbie Williams.
