Emmerdale viewers saw one character wave goodbye to the village for good on Thursday night, as they left the show.
Naomi Walters, played by actress Karene Peters, left the show a year on from arriving as the daughter of vicar Charles Anderson. The character decided village life wasn't for her, as she headed off to Ibiza.
The move came as a shock to her father Charles and other family members, while her grandfather Victor was the one who pushed her to "follow her dreams" and leave the village.
The awkward thing was that Naomi had just borrowed a load of money from Vinny Dingle with the intention of paying it back. Victor encouraged Naomi to flee with the cash though and to go and live her life.
As she said her goodbyes to her grandparents and her father, Naomi didn't see her brother Ethan. She also didn't have much of a goodbye with Charles, who pleaded with his daughter to stay.
Instead she vowed to leave for Ibiza rather suddenly, shortly after getting into a row with boss Chas Dingle over accusations of her handing out free drinks.
As Naomi left she apologised to Vinny for leaving so abruptly and before she could pay him back. Having spent the money on her new adventure, she promised she would pay him back every penny when she could.
But fans of the soap were sure a horrible twist was on the cards regarding Vinny following Naomi's departure. Many took to Twitter to question whether Naomi would really pay him back.
Fans were convinced that she had lied to him and would keep the money for herself. One viewer said: "sorry Vinny, but Naomi is about to run away with all your money."
A second fan agreed: "Naomi tells Vinnie that she won't let him down. Anyone believe her?" as a third fan wrote: "no way Vinnie's getting his money back from Naomi."
The comments kept coming too, with another tweet reading: "I expect Naomi won't be paying off her debts with Vinnie's money, though." It remains to be seen whether Naomi will ever return and whether Vinny will see his money again.
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
