Emmerdale aired catastrophic scenes on Sunday night, as the ITV soap celebrated its 50th birthday in deadly fashion - amid confirmation characters would be killed off this week.
As the devastating storm began to cause havoc in the village, two characters looked as though they had been killed off as a fireball in the woods left them injured.
Harriet Finch was left in a bad way after crashing her quad bike, while searching for missing teen Amelia Spencer.
While Harriet survived the crash, the quad then landed on top of her leaving her fighting for her life.
Kim Tate came across the scene and raced to help her love rival, dragging her out of the wreckage.
Harriet begged Kim to stay with her believing she was dying, and not wanting to be on her own as she grew weaker.
But Kim was determined to save Harriet's life and was preparing to go and find help, only for her horse to run off and leave her after getting spooked by the lightning.
In that moment, a bolt of lightning struck the quad bike which was leaking oil, causing it to engulf in flames and cause a huge blast.
The explosion sent both Harriet and Kim flying, with Kim hitting her head on a rock as she landed on the floor.
Kim was lifeless and unable to help Harriet, who was also motionless on the ground as the episode came to a dramatic end.
Viewers will have to wait until Monday's episode to find out if Kim and Harriet survive the horror blast, but it doesn't look good for either of them.
Harriet was bleeding and seriously injured before the blast hit, and after she was immediately unconscious.
As for Kim, she was left bleeding from the head after the huge impact - so could this be the end for the soap villain?
It comes as bosses recently confirmed more than one village resident will die during the big week.
Producer Jane Hudson spilled: "We will be having some huge stunts, big emotional heartache, secrets, lies, comedy and sadly, some of the soap’s much-loved characters will sadly lose their lives."
Teasing more about how many characters could die, Jane remained coy over what would lead to the deaths.
She said: "It is always hard to kill a character as someone is losing their job. You don’t want somebody to lose their job.
"But the nature of soaps means if you want to introduce new characters, then you need to lose old ones. If you are going to do a death in the soap, it can’t be the postman who has had three lines because it doesn’t matter.
"A death has got to have an impact not just on the characters but also on the viewers watching. Each of our deaths will bring a different emotion."
