Emmerdale actress Paige Sandhu confirms it's 'the beginning of the end' for evil Meena

Emmerdale actress Paige Sandhu has teased that there's more drama to come regarding her evil character Meena Jutla.

Meena has been causing havoc in the village for months now, and this week is no different as she kidnapped Dawn Taylor on her wedding day.

Appearing on Wednesday's This Morning, 25-year-old Paige spoke to hosts Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond about what's to come.

When Alison asked if Meena will meet her fate, Paige teased: "There are two peoples lives who hang in the balance, I'm sorry to say.

"And I can say this is the beginning of the end for Meena but there's more drama to come!"

Paige went on to say that she does "feel sorry" for her evil character, but she does understand why viewers don't.

"She's crazy she's wild she's intense, she's charismatic," Paige continued.

"I feel like I have the freedom to do whatever I want in a scene. These scenes have been some of my most favourite scenes," she added, referring to the dramatic viaduct scenes with Dawn and Billy.

Paige also admitted that she didn't know what the writers had in store for Meena when she first landed the role in 2020.

"I didn't know she was going to be a psychotic serial killer!" she laughed as Alison told her: "I don't like you, I don't like your character at all!"

After tuning into Tuesday night's episode of Emmerdale, fans were left devastated as six lives appeared to be hanging in the balance.

On the viaduct, Meena told her ex Billy that he needed to choose who she would shoot - himself or his new wife Dawn. Holding a gun to the pair, villainous Meena explained more details of the game as she held them hostage.

Billy was adamant she should shoot him as he begged for Dawn to be saved and to let her go, insisting he was the one to blame for all of this as he had been the one who broke her heart.

Fans watched on in horror as Leyla Cavanagh arrived to try and find the missing couple.

Immediately, Meena took out her gun and shot at Leyla multiple times, leaving her seriously wounded in her car. When Dawn asked to go over and see if Leyla was ok, Meena insisted it was too late.

Back on the viaduct, after an interruption from Leyla who managed to get herself out of the car, Dawn took the opportunity to fight back against Meena and managed to push her over and disarm her - at least temporarily.

As she held her down and threatened to kill her, Meena insisted to Dawn that wasn't a wise idea, because if she died, no one would ever be able to rescue Dawn's son Lucas. Billy pulled Dawn off her and begged her to stop.

As the final scenes of the episode aired, fans were shocked to see police officer Harriet lying on the floor with blood around her - her fate as yet to be confirmed.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV and ITV Hub.
