Emmanuel the Emu - who is he and why is he the newest viral TikTok star?

Addison Rae and Charli D'Amelio will have to make way, because there's a new TikTok star in town.

The latest TikTok sensation is tall, dark, handsome... and also feathery.

Emmanuel the emu has become internet famous for being the centre of attention in his caretaker's videos.

The mischievous bird has risen to stardom for his cheeky behaviour that sees him interrupting videos constantly.

In an interview with the Washington Post, Emmanuel's caretaker Taylor Blake spoke about how he's adjusting to his new-found fame.

She said: “Emmanuel’s just kind of a down-to-earth guy.

“I don’t really think he cares [about being famous].”

Blake also said that fame won't change her feathery friend, explaining: “I have talked to him about it a few times, but he hasn’t really had much of a reaction. I think he’s just … adapting to this new life of fame.”

As he becomes a viral hit, here's everything you need to know about who Emmanuel the emu is.

Who is Emmanuel the emu?

Emmanuel the emu is an adorable farm bird who has captured the hearts of TikTok users.

Emmanuel lives at Knuckle Bomb Farm in South Florida and his full name is Emmanuel Todd Lopez.

The loveable emu adores the spotlight but isn't a huge fan of phones and has quickly become a viral sensation on the app as he ruis his caretaker's videos by pecking at her screen.

Viewers have found his disruptive behaviour hilarious, and videos of him taking over the camera frame while his caretaker shouts "No, Emmanuel, stop" have racked up millions of views.

Who is Emmanuel the emu's owner?

Taylor also makes videos with other animals (@hiitaylorblake/Instagram)

Emmanuel is cared for by Taylor Blake, who works on Knuckle Bump Farm where he lives.

Taylor has been making TikToks showcasing the animals at Knuckle Bump Farm since the start of the year and has now amassed a million followers.

Blake tries to make educational videos about the animals on the farm, but her attempts are often thwarted by Emmanuel as he knocks over the camera.

As well as her more recent TikToks, Taylor has been creating content on other platforms since 2013.

It's not just Emmanuel who she makes videos with; she also works with lots of other animals including deer, pigs and cows.
