Emma Raducanu wears Dior Cruise to collect her MBE

Emma Raducanu accepted an MBE at Windsor Castle this morning, wearing a chic black look from Dior.

Attending an investiture ceremony where she met King Charles, the tennis sensation wore a demure black lace dress cinched with a chunky black leather belt, black Mary Jane heels and a dainty black boater. The full look was from Dior’s Cruise 2023 collection, which the brand unveiled at glamorous runway show in Seville back in June.

Raducanu was announced as an ambassador for the French fashion house back in October 2021, making her the face of both Maria Grazia Chiuri’s womenswear collections and also the brand’s skincare and make-up offering, overseen by Peter Philips.

“Maria Grazia’s work empowers women to feel confident in the iconic Dior cut, which I feel is very unique,” she told Vogue at the time. And certainly Raducanu, who recently turned 20, looked relaxed and confident as she posed for pictures outside Windsor Castle.

The award, which makes her a Member of the Order of the British Empire, was given after her incredible US Open victory in 2021 which made her the first British woman to win a grand slam since Virginia Wade in 1977 – and the first qualifier of any nationality to do so.

In a statement issued by her agent after the ceremony, she said: “It’s been great to receive my honour today from his Majesty the King – I feel extremely grateful.”
