Emma Raducanu Reveals Her Plans For Christmas Day

Emma Raducanu has revealed her plans for Christmas Day and confirms it will be spent outside of the United Kingdom.

Instead, the British tennis star will be spending December 25 on a “hot” beach with her best friend in New Zealand. However, the 22-year-old also admitted that she’ll miss her “favourite” time of year in London.

On Friday, Raducanu was due to fly Down Under but will now head straight for Auckland. On December 30, the 2021 U.S. Open champion will get her Auckland Open campaign underway.

A fine performance in the Kiwi city will provide the perfect build up ahead of the 2025 Australian Open. Raducanu recently confessed that nobody will want to play her in Melbourne.

Emma Raducanu Will Spend Christmas Day In New Zealand

I’ll be in Auckland on Christmas Day. My best friend Izzy lives in Auckland. So actually, last year I did the same,” Emma Raducanu confessed.

The last two years I’ve been with her and her family, and we go up north an hour, and she has a little beach hut. It’s different. It’s like a hot Christmas with a barbecue on the beach.

It’s just different for someone who grew up in London. December in London is my favourite time of year. But I guess I’m just gonna make peace for the next 10 or 15 years and then I’ll come back and have a cold Christmas.”

What Sponsorship Deals Does Emma Raducanu Have?

Earlier this month, a sports finance expert warned Emma Raducanu that she is at risk of losing her endorsements if she doesn’t start performing well on court.

The British No 2 has reportedly earned £9 million since her Fairytale of New York success at the 2021 U.S. Open. Raducanu has deals with the likes of Dior, Porsche, Tiffany, British AirwaysVodafone and Evian.

However, Raducanu went on to explain that although she is grateful to have such high-profile brands behind her, she needs to dedicate more time to herself.

“I’ve learned how to say no a bit more. Initially I felt really bad for letting people down. I’d always want to do extra for whatever partner or magazine I’m shooting for. If they wanted to do another half day I would do it and fit it in around my schedule.

I’m always going to do my best for the brands I’m working with but I’m also putting myself first a little bit more,” Raducanu explained.
