Emma Hayes calls for ‘patience’ amid uncertainty over Chelsea’s future with owner Roman Abramovich sanctioned

Chelsea Women’s boss Emma Hayes has called for “patience” amid the uncertainty around the club.

The Blues, as champions in three of the last four seasons, sit second in the Women’s Super League table and are under the same restrictions facing the men’s team following the sanctioning of owner Roman Abramovich.

Hayes has put together an impressive winning machine during her decade-long spell with Chelsea but faces a serious cut in funding until a new owner is allowed to buy the club.

Hayes told the club website: “It's certainly a very adaptable, resilient group I've got but we're also on the hunt for a trophy so, as long as that remains within our control, I have no doubt whatsoever the entire dressing room will be firmly fixed on that.

“I don't battle with things that I can't control today, I just know that I will probably learn more in the coming days and weeks.

“We're Chelsea, we will prevail. There will be solutions, we just need to be a bit patient.”
