Eminem readies second greatest hits set for August release

It's time for another "Curtain Call" for Eminem.

The Detroit rapper will release "Curtain Call 2," a follow-up to his 2005 greatest hits set, on Aug. 5, it was announced Monday. The set was teased last month when Eminem included the hashtag #curtaincall2 when he posted the video for "From The D 2 The LBC," his collaboration with Snoop Dogg.

"Curtain Call 2" collects Em's hits from 2009's "Relapse" forward, and will also include side projects, guest collaborations and more, according to a press release. "The King and I," his track from the soundtrack to Baz Luhrmann's "Elvis," will also be included, as will one previously unreleased track. The full track listing has not been unveiled.

In addition to the standard release, there will be box set and limited autographed vinyl copies available through Eminem's website. "Curtain Call 2" will also be released on cassette, Eminem's favorite format for vintage rap releases.

The cover art for "Curtain Call 2" is fashioned after a pinball game, and was teased in the video for "From The D 2 The LBC." It contains visual references to his "Recovery," "The Marshall Mathers LP 2," "Kamikaze" and "Music 2 Be Murdered By" albums, along with a shot of Detroit's Renaissance Center.

The first "Curtain Call" album collected tracks from Em's first four major label studio albums and has been certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America, signifying sales of 10 million units. It has spent more than 11 years on Billboard's Top 200 albums chart and is No. 63 on this week's tally.

Last month, Eminem earned his fourth entry in Spotify's 1 billion streams club when "The Real Slim Shady" passed the digital milestone. It will be joined any day now by "Love the Way You Lie," Em's hit collaboration with Rihanna.

Eminem will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame during a ceremony in Los Angeles in November.
