Eminem will make an appearance during the upcoming culmination of Fortnite’s latest season. As is the norm for the online multiplayer game, the climax will feature a Live Event that connects to Fortnite’s main storyline and ushers in a new era.
The latest chapter revels in nostalgia, with the return of classic maps and weapons, so vintage rapper Eminem should fit right in.
The not-so-real Slim Shady will possibly appear in a music-themed Chapter 4 finale live event, dubbed The Big Bang, which will lead into Chapter 5. Pop stars who have previously held Fortnite concerts include Travis Scott, Ariana Grande, Diplo, Young Thug, and Marshmello, among others.
Eminem is no stranger to gaming. The hip-hop icon’s tracks have previously appeared in Fortnite, along with the trailers for several Call of Duty games, including the most recent entry Modern Warfare 3. He also voiced a character in the 2005 video game 50 Cent: Bulletproof.
Although Fortnite has been around since 2017, the game recently broke its concurrent player record after bringing back the OG map from 2018. Earlier this month, Fortnite officials shared that it had reached a record 44.7 million players. It also surpassed 102 million hours of playtime in only a day.
Here's when the festivities will kick off and how you can join in the fun.
When is the Fortnite Big Bang event?
In the UK, Fortnite's next live event will start at 5pm on Saturday, December 2.
As usual, it will offer players new skins and other cosmetics, some of which will be available only to attendees.
How to join the event
You'll be able to jump into the event up to 30 minutes before it starts by firing up a game of Fortnite Battle Royale.
This way you can gather your squad, with parties of up to four allowed to enter together and grab a good view of the action.
Seeing as it's happening on a Saturday, there may be a chance that you're out and about. If you don't want to miss the event and the skins it offers, you can always access Fortnite on your mobile through either the Xbox Game Pass, Nvidia Geforce Now, or Amazon Luna streaming services.
Fortnite Big Bang downtime
Anticipating huge crowds, Fortnite maker Epic Games will be disabling its other experiences from 5pm to channel resources to the main event. Creator-made experiences will go dark slightly earlier at 4.30pm.
Fortnite Big Bang skins
A bunch of Eminem skins will be available in the game so don’t be surprised if you see loads of peroxide-haired doppelgangers running around the map.
The cosmetics include a version of the rapper in a hoodie, him in a superhero-style outfit and one when he is decked out in a black suit with a matching fedora. The last of those is dubbed Marshall Never More and will also come with an alternative Magma style exclusively for those who attend the event.
Everyone who turns up will also receive The Big Bang loading screen visual.
