Even though the romantic comedy on Netflix is named Emily in Paris, Emily and viewers are travelling to Rome in the second half of Season 4.
Lily Collins's title character has to deal with some significant developments, particularly when one of the show's long-running love triangles ends and another gets even more complicated.
Nevertheless, this season's events surrounding her are what really stand out, as the opulent and chic Netflix series tackles some darker subjects, from sexual harassment to fictitious pregnancies.

What happened in Emily in Paris part 1?
In Season 4, part 1, the tight romantic triangle involving Emily, Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) ends at the masquerade ball.
All three characters find themselves single again following the disastrous wedding in the Season 3 finale, and it is during this occasion that Gabriel and Alfie express their feelings to Emily.
Because of her people-pleasing nature, the marketing and social media specialist has found herself in improbable situations where she consistently avoids taking a firm stand. Emily actually choose a side for the first time and is swept into Gabriel's embrace.
It's only after kissing a masked stranger dressed just like Emily that Alfie realises this fact. That's when he sees Emily rushing out into the night with Gabriel. It's interesting to note that this is the final time we see Alfie on screen, and the tension between him and Emily is still very much present.
However, Emily in Paris's longest triangle between Gabriel, Emily, and Camille (Camille Razat) gets even more complicated than we could have imagined.
Season 4 sees Camille reunited with Sofia (Melia Krieling), her Greek girlfriend. However, the couple eventually split up because of they are in different stages of life, with Camille's attention now being on starting a family following her announcement of pregnancy.
The father of Camille's child, Gabriel, is overjoyed at the thought of having a baby.
As a result, even though they are in separate relationships, the two are still very close. But, after Camille and Sofia split up, an odd circumstance finds the original members of the love triangle together.
Camille, who goes for a health check-up, finds out she’s not, in fact, pregnant. In the last scene, when Camille sees Gabriel, she fails to mention she’s not pregnant and begins a pregnancy act by not accepting a glass of wine.
There are quite a few questions that will need to be answered in the second part, such as how will Gabriel find out about the false pregnancy, will Alfie return, will Camille and Sofia get back together, and what happened between Louis and Sylvie?
