Emily Atack calls police for help after being bombarded with horrific online rape threats

Emily Atack has revealed that she had to reach out to police for help after receiving horrific rape threats online.

An obsessive online stalker bombarded the actress and stand-up comedian with sick sexual content and even traced her address.

The terrified 32-year-old has told how she had no other choice but to turn to the authorities – but says she is also targeted online by many other obsessive fans who send her unsolicited sexual content.

But, due to online privacy rules, police were unfortunately led to a dead end and the man who vulgarly threatened her could not be tracked down.

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, Emily said: “There was this one time, things were really really bad, and I did involve the police. It was quite stalker-ish — this person saying they knew where I lived, saying what they were going to do to me, even my family.

“I got the police involved and it was the last time. To be fair the police tried to be helpful, they cared, but they hit a dead end because they aren’t allowed access to IP addresses and Twitter, etcetera, won’t give them out.

“So I just lost — you put your faith in the police, the people who are supposed to protect you, but I just lost faith in that system. There’s only so much they can do.”

She also says that she has moved house repeatedly as she does not feel safe living alone and has been left spooked by obsessive fans who have sent threats and appeared to know where she lives.

At the beginning of the year, Emily revealed to fans that she had moved house due to "privacy issues", The Mirror reports.

According to reports at the time, it was the third time Emily had moved in the space of two years, with her having lived in an apartment in London in 2020 and then a property in Camden last year.

Taking to social media about the latest move in January, she wrote at the time: "I've been a little quieter on here this last week and it's been good for the soul. But really wanted to say a massive thank you to this lovely lot at @davisandmac.

"I secretly moved house AGAIN last week. For various reasons, mainly of privacy issues. And I think I may have found somewhere I can finally settle.”
