Arsenal star Emile Smith Rowe has hinted at a possible return to action this weekend with a cryptic message on his personal Instagram page. The winger has been out of action since the Gunners' 3-1 Premier League defeat to Manchester United in September.
Smith Rowe, 22, underwent surgery on a damaged tendon in his groin at the end of September and has been forced to watch his teammates rise to the top of the Premier League from the sidelines. However, during the World Cup, he returned to training and travelled to Dubai before suffering another setback.
Now, as we approach the January transfer window, the Gunners could be set to receive a boost in the return of Smith Rowe in the coming weeks. Earlier on Friday, Arteta insisted that the Hale Ender has made "big steps" in his recovery and the forward has now dropped a major boost ahead of their New Year's Eve game with Brighton.

Not long after Arteta faced the media ahead of the trip to the south coast, the official Arsenal Instagram page posted an image of Smith Rowe taking part in training alongside fellow attackers Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah. Smith Rowe shared the post on his own story with the eyes emoji, a post Arsenal supporters will love to see.
Tomorrow's trip to the AMEX Stadium may prove to be too early for the academy graduate but his return will be welcomed with open arms at London Colney. With Gabriel Jesus out of action for at least two months, Arteta's attacking options are currently limited.
Arsenal had their opening bid for Shakhtar Donetsk's Mykhaylo Mudryk rejected earlier this week and it's expected that Edu will revisit the situation with a fresh offer. The Ukrainian has scored 10 goals and assisted a further eight in 18 games this season and is said to be open to a move to north London, but Shakhtar are holding out for close to the £100million Manchester City paid for Jack Grealish.
