A masked attacker used bricks to smash the windows of a bar belonging to ex-England star Emile Heskey’s wife.
The incident is thought to have happened after a man was turned away from Parea in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, in the early hours of last Sunday.
Chantelle, 37, was said to be “livid” after the attack.
A pal said: “It wasn’t a good experience for Chantelle.
“They’d just reopened and were following all the social distancing rules.
“This fella wasn’t allowed in and went off in a strop. Then he turned up again wearing a paper mask and blue gloves, and put a brick through the window.
“There was glass smashed everywhere. It’s fortunate no one was hurt.
“Chantelle wants to put it behind her. Her staff were just following the rules.
“She didn’t do anything to deserve it.”
Cheshire Police confirmed officers were called to the bar at around 1am and took CCTV tapes to help them identify the thug responsible.
Chantelle, who opened Parea in 2018, said she was taking the incident “very seriously”.
She added: “We have reviewed the CCTV and can confirm that the actions taken by the individual who caused disruption to our guests and their safety was that of someone refused entry so we could maintain our numbers and continue with social distancing.
“We are taking this very seriously and are working with the police and our security team to bring the person in question to justice.”
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Police were called to reports that windows at a bar on London Road, Alderley Edge, had been smashed by an unknown person.
“The offender was wearing blue gloves, a mask and a black hoodie. Enquiries are ongoing.”
Chantelle married former Leicester, Liverpool and Birmingham striker Emile, 42, in 2014 in a fairytale wedding in Cheshire.
The couple have two sons and two daughters together.
