Emerson Royal delivers verdict on Richarlison Tottenham transfer in message to ex-Everton man

It won't be long before Richarlison links up with his new Tottenham teammates after completing his big-money move to the club from Everton on Friday morning. Always tipped to depart Goodison Park in the summer due to the Toffees' financial problems, the Brazilian has signed in a deal worth £60million including add-ons.

The player, who has penned a five-year contract at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, is the club's fourth new arrival after the signings of Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic and Yves Bissouma last month. The new Spurs signings will link up with the rest of the squad next week as the non-international players and internationals return for pre-season training at different stages, before they then head off to South Korea on Saturday, July 9 for their pre-season tour.

Richarlison of course will be familiar with a number of the Tottenham team having played against them but he does already know Emerson Royal from international duty with Brazil. The Spurs right-back is certainly keen to join forces with his compatriot once again, making that perfectly clear in the message he sent to the new signing on Twitter a matter of hours after his signing was announced.

"Enough more, my bro!! It's the Brazilians in London!! It will be a pleasure to have you with us," he tweeted.

Richarlison took to his Instagram account earlier on Friday to send a heartfelt message to Everton fans following his Goodison Park exit. The attacker hailed the club's supporters and thanked them for the love and support he received from them during his four years on Merseyside.

"It's very difficult to say goodbye to a place that has become my home; of fans who welcomed me not just as another player, but as if I were one of them, in the stands; and a club that treated me kindly and helped me develop my sense of community and empathy," he said.

"No words and not all the love I have for this club is enough to thank you. We'll see you along the way! I love you Evertonians."

Tottenham fans will get their first opportunity to see Richarlison play for the club over the course of pre-season with friendlies coming up against Team K League, Sevilla, Rangers and Roma. Spurs then start their Premier League campaign against Southampton on Saturday, August 6, with a trip to Chelsea coming the following weekend.
