Emergency work to repair a damaged sewer pipe is underway in Blyth.
Following discovery of a damaged section of Northumbrian Water's sewer on the B1329, between the roundabout at the entrance to the Keel Row and the roundabout at the top of Bridge Street, an emergency repair is being carried out.
The complex repair of the sewer, which is located in the roadway, is expected to take around ten days to be complete.
During this time, diversions for road users will be in place, with additional signs to help shoppers access Morrisons and Keel Row Car Park.
Northumbrian Water’s supply partners, Esh Civils, will carry out the repair on behalf of the water company, and the organisations are working closely with Northumberland County Council to reduce disruption.
Northumbrian Water is apologising for any inconvenience caused and thanking its customers for their patience while things get back to normal.
Updates will be provided on its twitter page @nwater_care.
